Challenge aimed at students of Audiovisual Communication, Economics, Business Administration, Digital Marketing, or Multimedia Engineering who are interested in the cultural and technology industry.
The audiovisual ecosystem has changed radically: platforms such as Netflix, Movistar Plus+, and Filmin have transformed how films are distributed and consumed in Spain.
The reduction of windows, the personalization of offerings, and the emergence of niche platforms are creating new opportunities, but also challenges for producers, movie theaters, and viewers.
The challenge is to analyze how OTT platforms are changing film distribution in Spain and what business models are emerging in response to audience fragmentation and changes in consumption.
Objectives:
- Study the traditional distribution model (exhibition windows) and its transformation with the arrival of OTT.
- Analyze cases of relevant platforms in Spain (Movistar Plus+, Netflix, Filmin).
- Identify advantages and limitations of the new models for producers, exhibitors, and audiences.
- Explore international trends and their applicability to the Spanish market.
- Propose future scenarios for sustainable and accessible digital distribution.
Final project:
Strategic analysis of OTT models in Spain, with platform benchmarking, identification of innovation opportunities, and future scenarios. It will provide insight into trends and business proposals.
