Video and audio engineer at 'Video Core Technologies' initiative
Description of the team offering the internship
The Video Core Technologies initiative is the video technology group within Telefónica's global video product, which provides television service in numerous countries. As such, we are responsible for the deepest knowledge of video and audio coding for the validation, optimization and evolution of these technologies within our ecosystem. On the other hand, our vision in software development allows us to implement solutions in encoding, encryption and packaging. In addition, we have a laboratory with different analysis and quality computation tools to measure the quality and conformance of the signals we generate with our components. What are we looking for? We want to incorporate a new team member to contribute with us in these lines, while getting an advanced training in video and audio development and engineering.
What will you learn during your internship with us?
- Training in the technologies used in Telefonica's global video product. - Development of components for our products as well as for the automation of our laboratory activities. - Prospecting for new video and audio technologies.
Training and skills you will need to develop this internship
We are looking for a person interested in the analysis, evaluation and development of video and audio technologies. Technical knowledge in video codecs (H264, H265, H266, AV1..) or audio (AAC, AC3, EAC3, AC4..) as well as protocols (HLS and MPEG-DASH) and containers (MPEG2-TS and MP4) are highly desirable. It is also intended to create components for our products and automatic quality tools for the laboratory. Python, C# and C++ are the usual implementation languages.
